Ashdene Paddock Pals "Pete the Pony" Mug

Meet Pete the Pony — one of the very special characters in Ashdene’s beautiful Paddock Pals collection, illustrated by Australian artist Penny Louise.

Pete was inspired by a real pony from a Riding for the Disabled group in Coonabarabran, NSW. There were two gorgeous ponies at the centre, but Pete had other ideas — he kept stepping in front to make sure he was the one in the photos! 🐴💕

And the chickens pictured alongside him? They’re real country characters too, living on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River outside Canberra.

We love that these beautiful illustrations have such a wonderful Australian story behind them. From real ponies to real paddock life, Paddock Pals celebrates the animals, characters and little moments that make country life so special. 🌾🐔
